Evaluation Evaluation is an important part of the centre's overall operation. As a result of information gathered from participants and recommendations that emerged from our evaluation report, we have made some additions and changes to our programs.
Home Safety Tip:
With the change of seasons, remember to change the batteries in your Smoke Alarm. Help your Smoke Alarm remain sensitive and ready to protect you by gently using a vacum cleaner to remove dust and cobwebs. If your Smoke Alarms have been accidentally painted or contaminated, replacement may be necessary.
What Your Child Should Know Before Starting School ........
Your child can recognize his or his own name.
Put their name on everything. Show your child where to look for their name on everything as well.
Can dress him or her self.
Can recognize his or her clothing.
Dress yoru child in easy to manage clothing.
You may want to pack a change of clothes in your childs backpack just in case of any accidents he or she may have. This will help reassure your child.
Teach your child to ask to go to the bathroom, how to use the water fountain and how to raise their hand to ask a question.
Your child can go to the bathroom by him or her self.
If your child is staying for lunch, practise opening the containers you are going to send before hand so you know your child can open them.
If your child is going to be taking the bus, practise walking to the bus stop so your child knows where to get off, along with bus safety.
If your child is walking to school review the basic safety of walking and crossing the road.
Read story books about children starting school to help your child and ask some questions to see how your child feels.
May want to practise going to bed early and getting up for school times before your child actually starts school.
